Welcome to Kuzu Studio

A place where you create in your own way.
35 km from Munich — a studio where clay meets breath.

Welcome to Kuzu Studio — an intimate, artistic space near Munich, created for those who want to rest, find quiet, and work with clay at their own pace.

These aren’t pottery wheel classes — we teach hand-building ceramics, the most intuitive and primal techniques: coil building, slab construction, and sculpting.
Each participant works on their individual project — no imposed themes, no copying, no pressure.

The workshops take place in an open studio format — and we’re here to guide, advise, and accompany you through the process.

What does the ceramic creation process look like?

Step 1

Hand-building

You build your form from clay, learning the basics of joins, structures, and fundamental shaping techniques.

Step 2

Drying

The work dries naturally for several days to a few weeks, allowing moisture to evaporate slowly and safely.

Step 3

Bisque firing

We fire your piece in our ceramic kiln at 850°C, transforming the soft clay into strong, porous bisque ceramic.

Step 4

Glazing

You choose glazes and learn to work with color and effects, skillfully applying your selected finishes to the bisque surface.

Step 5

Glaze firing

The work goes back into the kiln at 1050–1150°C, melting the glazes and creating the final appearance and durability.

Please Note: The Ceramic Process Takes Time

The entire process takes 4-6 weeks — that’s how long it takes for clay to transform into ceramics.

To complete your work (fire and glaze it), a minimum of two sessions is required – the first for hand-building, the second for glazing.

You have a maximum of 6 weeks from your first workshop date to collect your finished pieces. After this time, uncollected works are disposed of, as we don’t have space for longer-term storage.

Groups are mixed and international, but full of support and kindness – we all understand each other through clay, gesture, laughter, and shared creation.

The perfect option if you want to create regularly.

The pass gives you access to a minimum of 4 sessions per month — sometimes even 6, depending on the calendar. The price stays the same!

You can create at your own pace, experience the complete ceramic process, and experiment with form, glazes, and color.

You have a maximum of 6 weeks from your last workshop date to collect your finished pieces.

No! Our workshops are for everyone – including those who have never worked with clay before. We teach everything from the basics.

No. The workshops are creative spaces – we do not offer observational classes. Every participant actively shapes and takes part in the process.

Yes! Workshops are open to adults and teenagers from approximately 12 years old. Each person just needs their own reservation.

Yes. We do not charge extra for clay, glazes, or firings. You can use everything available in the studio.

It’s entirely up to you! You can make a cup, plate, bowl, sculpture… We teach techniques but don’t impose any specific forms.

No. To complete your work, you need at least two visits – one for hand-building and one for glazing.

Reservations are binding. Booking = attendance. We don’t refund for absences or transfer sessions to other dates.

You have up to 6 weeks from your first or last session to collect your finished items. After that, uncollected pieces are disposed of.

For €200 + VAT, you can attend a minimum of 4 workshops monthly, sometimes even 5–6. The price is fixed. The same rules apply as for single workshops.

Yes – if your piece has been fired in our studio. If you only need glazing, sign up for the next workshop – glazing is also a creative process!

Yes – it depends on your pace. During one session, you can make as many pieces as you can. We don’t limit quantities.

Yes! We offer gift vouchers – just contact us, and we’ll prepare a beautiful voucher with your dedication.
